Take Wikipedia for example: the world’s most referenced online encyclopaedia has enabled a Kenyan man, Gabriel Nderitu, to build a plane using instructions downloaded from the site.
In an interview by the Guardian, Mr Nderitu said, “I read up on the mechanics and science of flight on the internet, downloading about 2GB of information. Mostly I used Wikipedia – it gives you all the specs, that’s the good thing.”
